With it’s red walls, and wooden features, the Wellington Room announces itself as a classic gentleman’s meeting area, making it an ideal space for the Groom and Groomsmen to get ready.
The History
Presumably named by Archibald Benson, the last of six Archbishops of Canterbury who resided in the Palace. He was Master of the Royal Wellington College inaugurated by Queen Victoria, which was built as a national monument to the Duke of Wellington. Bold bronze red walls were common in the Victorian era.
