Tait Lodge is named after Archibald Campbell Tait (1811 – 1882) who was one of six Archbishops that used Addington Palace as his grand summer residence. Benson Cottage is beside Addington Palace’s north wing, and is one of the few parts of the original 1778 Manor House which can be seen from the front.
